Rioplatense Accent Coaching

So your Spanish sounds like you, and like home

For those who moved to Argentina or Uruguay, or want their Rioplatense identity to grow.

You already speak Spanish, at B1 or above. You can hold a conversation. Now you want it to sound the way the people around you sound: the sh in yo and calle, the aspirated s that turns esto into ehto, the vos, and the porteño intonation, the music of a sentence in Buenos Aires or Montevideo (and no, it isn't an Italian accent).

The goal: to hear “¿Y vos de dónde sos?” or “Vos no sos de acá, ¿no?” a lot less often.

We work on pronunciation and intonation together with identity. Outside, the sounds and the rhythm. Inside, the shame, the fear of getting it wrong, and the person you become when you speak this way.

It's for you if

  • You speak Spanish at B1 or above and can hold a conversation, even with mistakes.
  • You'd enjoy someone from Argentina or Uruguay thinking you're from there.

It's not for you if

  • You want the accent of Spain, or of another Spanish-speaking country that isn't Argentina or Uruguay.

In their words

“I now see myself as a Spanish speaker. I say yes when someone asks if I speak Spanish.”
